The Bilingual Teacher Training Program (BTTP) assists kindergarten through grade twelve teachers, who already possess a basic credential, to attain authorizations required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC) to provide English Language Development (ELD), Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE), and primary language instructional services to English learners (ELs).
The Ventura County BTTP Program provides the following services to help teachers obtain an English Learner Authorization:
- CLAD/CTEL Test Preparation - classes to help prepare teachers to take and pass the Crosscultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) exam and the new California Teacher of English Learners (CTEL) exam. For more information regarding these exams, go to www.ctcexams.nesinc.com
- CCSD (SB1292) training provides eligible ROP teachers CCTC-approved staff development training to earn a certificate that authorizes them to provide ELD and/or SDAIE to English Learners. For more information, please contact Margaret Martinez at (805) 437-1320 or mmartinez@vcoe.org.
