JMENDOZA.jpgSPECIAL POPULATIONS EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

Joe I. Mendoza, Director

The Special Populations Educational  Support Department provides oversight for a number of different programs in school districts within Ventura County.  Among the main programs are Cal-Safe, Homeless, Foster Youth Services, Migrant Education, Migrant Education Even Start, Portable Academic Assistance (P.A.S.S.), Mini-Corps, Migrant Education First Five, Gang Invervention (G.R.I.P.), and Charter Schools.  Each different program offers staff development, educational materials, parent involvement, and supplementary instruction to eligible students.  Thus while serving a variety of students, these programs support unique populations with special educational needs.  In all situations, an effort is made to help students remain in school to complete their education.
