Phoenix- Airport serves middle school and high school students, grades 6-12, in Ventura County who have a history of emotional and/or behavior issues who need a smaller, more structured educational setting. Students are referred to the program by their district of residence via the IEP process.
Phoenix works collaboratively with Ventura County Behavioral health to meet the emotional needs of the students, working together to teach the student the necessary coping skills and strategies to manage their behavior. Students are provided instruction in the core curriculum. Students in 9-12 grades can earn a diploma.
It is the goal of all staff to help the students learn the skills needed to be able to return to a less restrictive setting.
