Greetings Students and Families,
On behalf of the Dorothy Boswell School faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2017-2018 school year. We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit our web site. My name is Dr. Karla Curry and I serve as the Special Education Principal for West Ventura County VCOE Special Education Programs at Dorothy Boswell School, Balboa Middle School, Ojai TEAMS, and Ventura High School. I am extremely proud and thankful to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members.
The Ventura County Office of Education operates six classes at Dorothy Boswell School in the city of Ventura. The site serves students, ages 18-22, with moderate to severe disabilities from Ventura Unified School District and Santa Paula Unified School District. Dorothy Boswell School provides services for students who can benefit from education and training in the areas of independent living, career and vocational training, community access, recreation and leisure, mobility, social-emotional growth and development, and functional academics. As an adult learning community, we believe that collaboration between teachers, specialists, paraprofessionals, administration, students, and families leads to positive student outcomes.
We thank you for visiting our website and hopefully you have gained additional insight about our school. My door is always open and I welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas. Additionally, individualized tours are available throughout the school year. Please contact the Boswell office at (805) 289-3388 for more information.
