Principal's Message

Aran BurkeGreetings,

On behalf Ventura County Office of Education and Ojai TEAMS faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit our website. My name is Aran Burke and I serve as the Special Education Principal for VCOE Post Secondary Programs at Ojai TEAMS, Dorothy Boswell School, and Moorpark ACCESS. I am extremely proud and thankful to be working with such an exceptional group of students, families, and staff members.

The Ventura County Office of Education operates one post-secondary classroom at Nordhoff High School in the town of Ojai. The site serves students, ages 18-22, with multiple abilities from Ojai Unified School District. Ojai TEAMS provides specialized academic programming and support services for students in the areas of career and vocational training, independent living, community access, recreation and leisure, social-emotional growth and development, and functional academics. Our students benefit from a standards-based curriculum, Ventura County Community College District EAC courses at Ventura College as appropriate, Department of Rehabilitation vocational training, community job training sites, and enrichment course and clubs. As an adult learning community, we believe that collaboration between student, family, school, and community stake holders leads to positive student and adult outcomes.

We thank you for visiting our website and hope you have gained additional insight about our amazing post-secondary program. My door is always open, and I welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas. Additionally, school visits may be available by appointment during the school year. Please contact the West County Office at (805) 289-3388 for more information.

Respectfully,
Aran Burke
