Relay for Life, October 3rd - 4th, 2009
At Camarillo High School
I am proud to say that as of October of this year I will have been with VCOE for Ten years.
During that time it has been my pleasure to meet and interact with some truly amazing people, people that are passionate about their work and compassionate in doing it. It is such a joy to be part of an organization that positively affects people on a daily basis.
Now we have the opportunity as an organization to touch the lives of even more people by taking part in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event in October 2009.
When Stan first approached me and asked me if I would be willing to put together a VCOE Team for Relay for Life, I answered with a hesitant, “Yes.” But now that I have seen what is involved and all of the benefits that are gained, I am confident that we will not only have a team, but potentially several teams.
I would encourage you to share the attached information and help recruit coworkers for our VCOE Relay for Life Team, with any luck we may even have multiple teams. With multiple teams I’m sure we can generate a little friendly competition. If you do not feel confident in putting together your own team, that’s fine, we will designate a team for you.
If you would like to start a team, be a team member, know of other interested staff or just want to learn more, please contact me at: (805) 437-1501 or by email at jtarkany@vcoe.org, to get started.
Thank you,
John E. Tarkany, Coordinator
