Lisa Salas Brown serves as Director of Local District Support Services for the Ventura County Office of Education. A statutory responsibility of the county superintendent is the review and approval of local district LCAPs. Ms. Salas Brown provides a communication channel and support for districts, offering technical assistance for the creation, monitoring, and implementation of their district LCAP. Currently, in addition to her work with Ventura County school districts, she is working on state-wide projects connected to the LCAP. These projects include Facilitator for the Early Adopter Professional Learning Network through the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE), the State Board of Education Evaluation Rubric and the creation of LCAP support systems for districts and county offices of education through the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA) and California Education Partners. Mrs. Brown started her educational career as a teacher for VCOE at Gateway Community School in 1991. With over 25 years of experience in education, she has worked as an Outreach Coordinator, teacher, site and district administrator.
