The program is jointly administered and staffed by Ventura County Office of Education and Ventura County Behavioral Health. Students in the high school program, grades 9 to 12, earn credits leading to a high school diploma. Middle school aged students undertake a course of study in academic areas similar to their general education peers of the same age.
This program is designed to prepare students to return to less restrictive schools closer to their neighborhoods. An intensive effort is made to help students acquire skills necessary to accomplish this goal. In general, students remain in the program for 9 to 12 months.
