Tools for Meeting the Social and Academic Needs of
Your Students in After School Programs

Please save the following dates for Saturday After School Program Trainings in Kern County.  All trainings are scheduled from 9:00am- 2:00pm.  Registration begins at 8:30am.  Lunch is on your own.

October 10, 2009- Classroom Management: Consistent program wide strategies provide a safe environment and an atmosphere conducive to academic and social activities.  This module will assist you in keeping all of your students positively involved.

November 14, 2009- Math Activities for After School

February 27, 2010- Power of Writing/ Formative Assessment: The ability to write well is a powerful tool.   Your students will learn to love language and take great pride in the writing they produce.

March 20, 2010-  Learning Strategies for English Learners:  One out of four students in California is learning English as a second language.  How many are in your program?  This module will help you answer this question and provide necessary support to these students.
