Storytelling is a language art. Something clicks in the child's mind that now it is safe to play act. In an environment that is non-judgmental and fun, students will begin to trust their instincts through the use of theater games, improvisations, storytelling, and dance movements. Their creative imaginations flourish as their bodies and voices become more effective communication tools. Students and teachers will learn to make any story come alive; folktale, fairy tale, or personal. Alina can also direct and any scripted play. All culminating in a performance at the end of the workshop.
As a native Spanish speaker, Alina is able to teach bilingually. She has a professional background for 30 years as a dancer and actress. But her proudest achievement is her company "Kids Acting Out-west", bringing performing arts to after-school curriculum, summer theater camps, and classrooms.
