"Humanities Through Art"

Roberta is a credentialed teacher, currently completing a graduate degree in art education with many years of classroom experience teaching art.  Roberta's lessons are specifically designed to align California Visual/Performing Arts Standards with your existing classroom curriculum.  Other options include a number of sample lessons that address History/Social Studies writing and poetry, reading, math, and higher levels of thinking.  All lessons incorporate principles of design, using a variety of media and techniques to create original art.

In some sessions, students will learn the history of puppets and create rod puppets of their own.  Language skills can easily be developed through writing and performing an original or literature-based play.

Local Ventura County history is the focus of a lesson to learn about historical development of locacl agriculture, culminating in the design of a packaging box label.  Students also study medieval communities, learn how a cathedral was built, and create a "stained glass window".

Grades K-12 as well as Court and Community teachers, .
