Teri Scarpino has extensive experience as a teacher, administrator and Director of the California School Leadership Academy. In July of 2004, Teri began her role as Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Continuous Improvement for the Ventura County Office of Education. In 2006, she created the VCOE Administrator Coaching Network.
From 2005 to the present, Teri Scarpino developed and continues to facilitate Ventura County’s Leadership Coaching Network. The coaching model is designed to provide two ninety-minute individual coaching sessions every month for an entire school year. Some areas of focus include establishing goals, both short and long-term, analyzing student achievement data, creating a culture for collaboration, solving problems and taking action, and motivating change. Each coach receives research-based training, and each has held administrative positions at school sites and/or in district offices. During network meetings, Teri offers research-based trainings on communication and tools for problem solving.
In the spring of 2010, Teri retired but she continues to work as a consultant and facilitate the Coaching Network. She is effective in helping district and site administrators deal with various problems including fiscal challenges, student achievement concerns, staff issues, and problems with parents and students.
Working with schools that have highly-challenged student populations, Teri provides service through leadership coaching, leadership team staff development, and countywide staff development in areas including, but not limited to, data analysis and building professional learning communities.
