Ventura County Office of Education supports many different programs for English Language Learners throughout the county. School districts’ programs reflect the needs of the learners that they serve.
In the county we support programs such as Dual Language, Bilingual, SDAIE/ Structured English Immersion, Mainstream, and Academic ESL.
Ventura County has approximately 141,610 K-12 students. Of these, 23% are receiving services for English language development. Our English Language Learners speak 49 different languages and represent those cultures. School districts have identified appropriate programs for the learners that they serve. We support those models with professional development, coaching, selecting materials, strategically planning, and identifying best practices.
