The Ventura County SARB meets one time per month to combine and utilize their expertise and resources countywide to address issues relative to student attendance and behavior problems. The Ventura County SARB addresses concerns, shares information, develops and promotes guidelines, identifies and resolves problems, and advocates for school attendance. The County SARB also provides support and resources to local school district SARBs which work directly with students and families to alleviate severe truancy and behavior problems at the school site. County SARB has formed a program with the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office to address severe cases of student truancy entitled The Truancy Referral and Prosecution Program. Per the Education Code, County SARB membership consists of representatives from school districts, public agencies and the community at large. The Department of Leadership Support Services supports and coordinates the County SARB on behalf of VCOE, the local school districts, and public agencies.
