Within the VCOE Student Services Branch, Student Achievement & School Support (SASS) works collaboratively with VCOE school sites to implement best practices in support of student learning including: Curriculum Development, implementation of effective instructional practices, creating dynamic and supportive classroom learning environments, Response to Instruction and Intervention, Professional Learning Communities and tracking student progress to standards mastery.

in order to promote a quality education for all, SASS staff focus on student learning through collaboration reviews of student achievement data, analysis of student work samples, and observation of instructional practices. The SASS Department also collaborates with key VCOE staff to plan and provide necessary teacher and administrator training and staff development. SASS additionally provides oversight for state and federal categorical programs all VCOE school sites.
