classrooms, utilizing functions that aid in academics and create enthusiasm in
your students.

| Building Strong Digital Citizenship: How Parents Can Help
Thursday,

Parent education is a critical
piece of building strong digital citizenship. We need to provide parents
with facts about their child’s digital life, including responsible use of
social networking, and consequences of sexting, illegal peer-to-peer file
sharing, and cyberbullying. Targeted for site administrators, this
workshop will provide free resources and tools for hosting Parent Ed Nights.

| Moodle Mania
Thursday, April
22, 2010 4 to 6 pm

Professional Development credit offered
This session is to learn how to build your own Moodle
online classroom. Starting with the basics of creating a course and adding
students, intermediate Moodle skills like posting a file and creating a label,
and more advanced items like creating a forum, glossary, and time permitting a
quiz.
Please make sure you bring unit materials you would like to incorporate into
your Moodle site.
As this is a working session, please bring your laptop.

| Promethean ActivWorkshop
ActivShops are held on the 3rd Wednesday from
3:30 to 5:30 pm. The following dates are
open for registration: March 16; April 20; May 18. Space is limited so register now!
During these ActivWorkshops, you will
- Enhance your ActivClassroom usage in
your content area
- Get hands-on guidance from an
ActivExpert
- Connect and share ideas with other
ActivEducators in Ventura
County
Prerequisites: ActivInspire or ActivStudio abilities include:
- Proficiency in creating flipchart
lesson,exploring Resource Browser/Library and using ActivSoftware math
tools
- Beginning usage of camera and video
recorder tools, creating action objects, and inserting/embedding media
files and web links
Materials: A flash drive (to save and share your work)
In these hands-on workshops, participants will use real world scenarios to help
students construct and deepen abstract and concrete concepts. Educators
will explore interactive lessons while holding students accountable for their
learning.

County ActivEducators
- Participate in a Q&A period
Prerequisites for hands-on learning communities are:
- ActivBoards in your classroom
- ActivStudio or ActivInspire on your
computer/laptop
- Created lesson plans/flipcharts to use
with your students
As these will be hands-on sessions, please make sure to bring a laptop with
ActivStudio or ActivInspire currently loaded. Make sure you have a
started flipchart that you would like to enhance.
