Multiple and Single Subjects Clear Credential Program


The Ventura County Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment Induction Consortium (BTSA·IC) is a two-year, developmentally sequenced program of support and Assessment for newly credentialed teachers teaching in California. The BTSA IC Program is administered by the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE), Teacher Support Services department in cooperation with a consortium of 22 school districts and 5 university partners. Components of the BTSA IC Program include:

  • Recommendation for the Clear Multiple/Single Subject Credential upon completion of all program and CCTC requirements;
  • An Induction Portfolio documenting completion of the credentialing process and professional growth;
  • Support and mentoring from a trained peer support provider;
  • Professional development provided through Classes and formative assessment;
  • Early completion option is available for qualified participants;
  • Release time for professional development activities or peer observation; and
  • Professional development and/or University coursework credit available for salary advancement (dependent upon your district’s specific rules).

Portfolios Due Soon!
The first portfolios for Year 1, Year 2 and Early Completion Option (ECO) participants are due as follows (in chronological order):

Portfolio C (for Year 2 participants): due on January 9, 2009
Portfolio A (for Year 1 participants): due on January 16, 2009
Portfolio E (for ECO participants): due on January 30, 2009

IMPORTANT NOTE: Once you have uploaded your Portfolio through the MyPDC website, please remember to email academicadvise@vcoe.org to let us know your portfolio has been submitted. This will prevent delays in the processsing and review of your portfolio.
 

Change of MyPDC Login Password
This is a reminder that if you have not already changed your login password to the MyPDC website, it is highly recommended that you do so to comply with general security policies. To change your password, login to MyPDC, click "My Pages" on the main menu, then click "Change Password". Applying for Clear Credentials
Instructions for applying for clear credentials are emailed to all Year 2 and Early Completion Option participants by early June of each year. If you did not receive this email, the instructions are also available in "General Program Forms" page under the Links section on this webpage (see below) and in the MyPDC main menu under "Documents and Resources - BTSA/IC General Program Information and Forms." 

Units for BTSA
If you purchased units for BTSA from California Lutheran University (CLU), please note that credit is not posted until after July 15th of each year. Please do not request your official transcripts from CLU until after this date - Thank you.

Official university transcripts must be requested by you in writing. The BTSA Program cannot request transcripts as they are confidential records and will only be released at the request of the student. I
nstructions for ordering transcripts are available on the CLU Transcript Requests website. Please reference the following course numbers when ordering your transcript:
  • Year 1 participants - EDUC 811A/811B (5 units total)
  • Year 2 participants - EDUC 811C/811D (5 units total)
  • Early Completion Option (ECO) participants - EDUC 813A/813B/813C (7 units total).

Question: “What file formats are recommended for uploading/attaching my portfolio documents to the MyPDC website? And what is the file size limit and the maximum number of documents that can be uploaded?”
Answer: Recommended file formats for portfolio attachments (such as student work samples, Site Policies and Procedure forms, etc.) are Microsoft Word (.doc, .dot), Adobe Acrobat (.pdf), or picture formats (.jpeg, .tif, gif, .bmp). If submitting video and/or sound files, recommended formats are .mpeg, .mpg, .avi, .wmv or .mov. Each file is limited to 7MBs or less and you can upload up to 25 attachments for each portfolio.
