The Ventura County General Education Induction Consortium, formerly known as BTSA, is a two-year, developmentally sequenced program of support and Assessment for newly credentialed Multiple Subject / Single Subject teachers teaching in California. The General Ed IC is administered by the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE), Teacher Support and Expanded Learning Services department in cooperation with a consortium of 22 school districts and 5 university partners. Components of the General Ed IC include: 
  • Recommendation for the Clear Credential upon completion of all program and CTC requirements;
  • An Induction Portfolio documenting completion of the credentialing process and professional growth;
  • Support and mentoring from a trained peer support provider;
  • Professional development provided through Classes and formative assessment;
  • Early completion option is available for qualified participants;
  • Release time for professional development activities or peer observation; and
  • Professional development and/or University coursework credit available for salary advancement (dependent upon your district’s specific rules).
