CTE Leadership

Work-Based Learning, New Cal-PADS Data Collection Item

Information posted below is from the CDE WBL Webinar, November 24, 2020.  Key points include:

  • Work-Based Learning (WBL) data is to be reported for all students, not just those participating in Career Pathways.
  • New WBL data collection is for internships, student-led enterprise, and virtual/simulated WBL.  Job shadowing, jobs students secure on their own, and mentorship are not considered Internships.  The powerpoint includes details and definitions.
  • WBL data is to be included with CalPads submission, EOY 1, July 30, 2021; new WBL codes will be analyzed for potential inclusion in the fall 2022 Dashboard.
  • All WBL data must be mapped to a course; this could be 9000 Work Experience or CTE courses.
  • The recording is approximately 2 hours long.
  • VCOE Career Education is considering putting together a regional training.  We will include information on any regional training in our monthly CTE Spotlight e-newsletter.

Access the powerpoint here; Cal-Pads resources may be found at this Resource Repository page.

Access the recording at this youtube channel.

Cal-PADS code sets are located at this CDE page.
