Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

Welcome to the CEC STEM site for the Ventura County Office of Education. This page supports and promotes STEM initiatives and opportunities for students in Pre-K-12 Ventura County schools. Our focus is on inclusive STEM careers that facilitate the design-build process. Our priority areas include Information Communication Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Unmanned Aerial Systems.

As the largest employer of civilian STEM jobs in Ventura County, the US NAVY has partnered with VCOE to offer opportunities for students with the following three Naval centers.

  • Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) – Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, Point Mugu Division
  • Engineering Command (NAVFAC) – Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division
  • Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) – Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division
Did you know that the NAVY encourages STEM education by increasing and supporting volunteering of DoD scientists and engineers in schools, labs, and STEM events?
