The Ventura County General Education Induction Consortium (Gen Ed IC) is a two-year, developmentally sequenced program of support and assessment for newly credentialed teachers in California. The program is accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) and is administered by the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE), Teacher Support Services department in coordination with a consortium of 22 school districts, local charter schools, private schools, and 5 university partners. 

The General Education Induction Consortium provides services to teachers who have a Preliminary Multiple or Single Subject credential. Combining online and face-to-face professional development coursework and completion of formative assessment documents during fieldwork with an experienced mentor, each candidate is guided to successful demonstration of required program competencies.

    • An Individualized Learning Plan documenting completion of the credentialing process and professional growth

  • Opportunities to expand your educational resume
    • University coursework credit available for salary advancement (dependent upon your district’s specific policies). 
    • Credit toward master's degree programs with Grand Canyon University (VCOE-GCU MA Partnership)

Units for Induction

Candidates have the option of purchasing 5 semester units from California Lutheran University for the current year of Induction. The Unit Application form is available under the Links and Resources section of this page. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2017.

If you purchased units for a previous year of Induction and need to request a transcript, go to California Lutheran University Registrar's website. Official transcripts may be requested after July 30th of each year.
