Substitute Paraeducator Requirements

To be considered for a Substitute Paraeducator, applicant must be eighteen (18) years old and have:

■  High School Diploma or equivalent 
    AND
■  48 College Semester Units (Verified), OR
■  Verification of Passing Score on ParaPro Exam, OR
■  Verification of Passing Score on VCOE's Substitute Paraeducator Test 
 
Substitute Teacher Minimum Requirements

To be considered for a Substitute Teacher, applicant must have:
■  Bachelor's Degree 
    AND
■  Basic Skills Requirement met through either CBEST scores, SAT scores, ACT scores, or college coursework, for example 
    AND
■  Eligibility for 30 Day Sub Permit*, OR
■  Valid CA Teaching Credential
