Battle of the Books is a trivia-style game in which Ventura County students in grades 3rd-5th and 6th-8th answer questions about books they have read from the Ventura County Office of Education Battle of the Books list. The event encourages students to read a variety of genres and books and have fun!

We are in the process of determining how many teams we can accommodate from each school/district to participate in our event; we can accomodate up to 40 teams total. Once we have this information confirmed we will update this webpage. Please check back for more details soon.
In the meantime, we recommend that your school purchases the books, have kids start reading, and keep an eye on our website for the practice questions to be released. The most important element of this event is for kids to read great books and have a blast doing so!!! So, regardless of whether your team is able to participate at the county event, the more kids reading, the better!
