Volunteer Information

Robotics provides students with opportunities to learn core science and engineering concepts using a fun, interactive approach. One of the biggest challenges of teaching students science and engineering is demonstrating these concepts in an engaging way. Robotics helps students learn about programming, engineering and physics.

Assembling and experimenting with robots is ideal for kinesthetic learners of any age group. Concepts and ideas come to life when the students can put them into practice.

Event Information

With the many changes our school districts, staff, and students continue to experience during this time of Covid-19, we feel it is more important than ever for Ventura County student competitions including Academic Decathlon, Mock Trial, and Science Fair to take place during the 2020-21 school year. As we work to plan these upcoming events, we must take into account the many unknown circumstances that lie ahead.

At present we are not sure if we can proceed with VEX Robotics for the 2020-21 school year. However, the REC Foundation is offering various online events, activities and resources.
