If an opioid overdose is suspected, the first thing to do is immediately call 911.
Following are the steps for LEAs that are considering obtaining naloxone:
- Update/adopt board policy and administrative regulation
- Train staff
- Create the LEA and school site level protocols for naloxone availability including who, what, when, and where
The Calironia Department of Health Care Services' (DHCS) Naloxone Distribution Project (NDP) is funded by Substand Abuse and Mental Health Services Adminstration and adminstered by DHCS to combat opioid overdose-related deaths throughout California. The NDP aims to address the opioid crisis by reducing opioid deaths through the provision of free Naloxone Nasal Spray.
