Ventura County Office of Education operates two classrooms for students ages 18-22 in the Moorpark School District. This class is located on the campus of Chaparral Middle School
Instruction is based on the functional skills curriculum, which includes:
- self-care / independent living
- recreation / leisure
- community access / motor skills
- vocational
- communication
- social / emotional, and
- functional academics
with special emphasis on job training, independent living, and community-based instruction, including public transportation and accessing Moorpark College.
Academics, which are Standards based, are addressed within these domains with the purpose that students learn functional skills which are practical and maximize their independence in the future.
