COVID-19 Science Fair Update March 13, 2020
The Ventura County Office of Education’s top priority is the safety and health of our students, advisors, volunteers, and families. With that in mind, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Ventura County Science Fair. We will provide a $15 per/student refund.
The Ventura County Office of Education has been closely monitoring recommendations and issuances from federal, state and local health agencies (including the Ventura County and CA Dept. of Public Health) regarding Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19). In the coming days, we anticipate guidance from federal, state and local health agencies to urge stronger restrictions for gatherings and recommend additional social distancing.
In addition, the Ventura County Science Fair host site, California Lutheran University, has canceled all events with an expected attendance of more than 100 people and is encouraging the cancelation of smaller events as well.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support of this difficult decision.
Ventura County has a long proud tradition of excellence in the Science Fair having competed at state for the past 66 years and winning many and various state titles over the years.
This is only possible by providing our students with the fairest and highest caliber judging available at the County level. That is why we need you!
