In-Person Reopening Dates for Ventura County School Districts and Charter Schools

The charts below provide the dates that Ventura County School districts and charter schools have announced for the resumption of in-person instruction during the 2020-2021 school year. To maintain required social distancing, schools will use a hybrid schedule that includes a combination of in-person and distance learning. Plans are subject to change, so please check with your local district for the latest information. For districts that are reporting their COVID-19 cases, we have included buttons that link to their public reporting dashboards.

CHARTER SCHOOL REOPENING DATES
ACE

Once Ventura County is in the Red Tier, ACE will begin voluntary instruction by grade level starting March 17th at the earliest predicted date. On March 31st, ACE will divide cohorts into Grades 9 & 12 in the blue cohort, and Grades 10 & 11 in the silver cohort. Each cohort is divided again alphabetically by A-M or N-Z to foster smaller groups. We are waiting for plan approval from Ventura County Public Health. 
Bridges

K-3 Opened November 30th with AM/PM Cohorts and an option for continuing full time Distance Learning. 4th and 5th grade opened on November 30th with an AM Cohort only. 4th graders attend on Tuesday/Thursday, 5th graders attend on Mondays/Wednesdays. We also provide an option for full time Distance Learning. As of March 16 we will expand and be offering a 4 day program to our 4th and 5th grade Monday - Thursday. We intended to reopen our middle school on January 19, 2021, however, due to status in the county, we could not re-open. We have completed the Safety Review Request and if approved, we are intending on bringing Middle School Students back in hybrid form on March 10. Our Safety Review was approved and our Middle School grades returned to campus in a hybrid from two days a week as of March 10.
CAPE

Grades K-1 starting November 2, 2020 (went Remote only Dec 11, 2020). Grades K-6 returned to a hybrid program on March 1, 2021. Some students are choosing to continue with remote learning only for the remainder of the year. Grades 7-8 will start when Ventura County is in the red tier.

IvyTech

Ivy Tech is a non-classroom based program but started having small cohorts of at risk students back on campus on October 20, 2020 to receive support with distance learning. Grades 7-12.
MATES

MATES returned on October 26, 2020; Another group of students returned on January 19, 2021; an additional group of students returned March 1, 2021, and the remaining students will continue with distance learning for the remainder of the year.
Peak Prep

River Oaks Academy

ROA is a nonclassroom-based program with two resource facilities. Our facilities remain closed for student enrichment activities; we offer park days and 2 outdoor days throughout the spring semester; we offer in person academic support only to teacher-referred students; all other academic support remains virtual.
University Prep

Valley Oak

VOC is a non-classroom based program. We are planning to begin offering a hybrid program to our K-4 students the week of March 22, 2021. Students will have the option of attending 2-4 on-site classes each week or continuing with distance learning alone. Grades 5-12 will be offered a similar option as soon as mid-April, depending on the County's pandemic numbers at that time.
