Academic Advice Banner

Advice and Assistance provides academic advisement for aspiring and veteran educators who need assistance to complete a certification program, to gain additional certifications for their job assignment, or to meet specific credential requirements.

Academic Advisors

Academic Advisors (credential analysts) meet with participants when considering education as a career option, making a career move within education, or needing to add additional authorizations to existing credentials. The Advisors explain each program and make sure that all candidates understand the program and CTC requirements to earn a teaching or services credential.

Throughout the process, Academic Advisors assist candidates with their questions and needs. In addition to program entry advising, the Academic Advisors provide timely and accurate academic and professional information to support participants’ personal goals. Via email, website, and phone conversations, candidates receive individual attention on a one-to-one basis.

The Credential staff for the Ventura County Office of Education provide services for obtaining various types of credentials in California, renewing a California credential, or adding authorizations to existing credentials.
