The Ventura County Dual Language Leadership Network is a professional learning and growing space for educational leaders who serve and support Dual Language programs across our county. Meetings are designed to support the needs of English Learners and native English speakers through the centering of the 3 Pillars of Dual Language Education: Billingualis, and Bilteracy, Grade Level Academic Achievement in Both Program Languages, and Sociocultural Competence and Critical Consciousness.
The objectives of our professional network are to:
- Deepen understanding of the goals of the CA English Learner Roadmap policy, the 3 Pillars of Dual Language Education, the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education, the Global California 2030 initiative, and the State Seal of Bilteracy in order to align, articulate, implement, and sustain quality dual language programs and systems
- Engage in professional learning and collaboration that addresses the needs of diverse learners in dual language programs and develops instructional leadership
- Inspire and support continuous growth and improvement in Multilingual Learners advocacy as individuals and collectively
