Principal's Message

Aran Burke

We are pleased that you have taken the time to visit the ACCESS website. We provide a comprehensive education for students with disabilities of high school age. We work closely with our local school districts to ensure students receive a quality education that is individualized to their needs.
Our hope is that you find our website user-friendly and, after your visit, you will have a good idea of all we have to offer. Our school is a wonderful place for students from diverse backgrounds to grow physically, educationally, and socially. We believe that every student can grow and achieve their maximum level of independence.

The Ventura County Office of Education currently operates three post-secondary rooms at the Moorpark ACCESS Program. The post-secondary site serves students, ages 18-22, with multiple abilities from surrounding school districts. The ACCESS Program provides specialized academic programming and support services for students in the areas of career and vocational training, independent living community access, recreation and leisure, mobility, social-emotional growth and development, and functional academics. Our students benefit from a standards-based curriculum, Ventura County Community College District EAC courses at Moorpark College as appropriate, city bus travel training, Department of Rehabilitation vocational training, community job training sites, and on-site enrichment courses and clubs. As an adult learning community, we believe that collaboration between student, family, school, and community stake holders leads to positive student and adult outcomes.

Our programs and expertise in working with students with disabilities is second to none. We strive to create an environment where each and every student is given the support and tools necessary to achieve his/her individual success. All of this is made possible by strong partnerships that are developed with our parents, local school districts, and community agencies.

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at (805) 437-1590.
