Core Reforms Engaging Arts to Educate California (CREATE CA) teams innovative thinkers from multiple sectors of California’s creative economy, public and private, to rethink and create an educational environment for all California students that features arts education as a central part of the solution to the crisis in our schools.
The visual and performing arts are an integral part of a comprehensive curriculum
and are essential for learning in the 21st century. All California students from every culture, geographic region and socio-economic level deserve quality arts learning in dance, music, theatre,
and visual arts as part of the core curriculum. The Curriculum and Instruction department at VCOE developed Module 8, Artifact Detectives, which you will find on the
CCSESA Web site
along with a variety of other modules to help infuse the arts throughout the curriculum.
