The Ventura County Dual Language Network was established to support the growing number of dual language programs in Ventura County. These programs integrate native English speakers and English learners for academic instruction and aim to promote bilingual proficiency, high academic achievement, and cross-cultural awareness in all students to prepare them for today’s global society. The network meets quarterly to discuss critical implementation issues and participates in visitations to dual language schools. In addition, the network organizes a Dual Language Institute to address the professional development needs of teachers and administrators who are implementing or planning to implement a program. The goal is to provide awareness training, professional development, and networking opportunities for dual language educators and parents. For more information or to participate in the network, contact Curriculum and Instruction.
