Currently under construction in Camarillo, the Mary E. Samples Education Services Center is a new building that will house services for students with special needs. When complete, it will be the new home of VCOE's Triton Academy, which serves students with autism. It will also house the administrative offices of the VCOE Department of Special Education. The building is named for legendary local educator Mary E. Samples, who is the former head of the Ventura County SELPA and a tireless advocate for students with disabilities. Construction began on the 29,944-square foot, two-story building in June of 2018 and is expected to be open for the start of the 2020-21 school year.
