Brett Taylor has served the students and families of Ventura County in public education for over two decades. His experience in Educational Leadership includes Assistant Superintendent, Director of Alternative Education, Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, and Teacher. He has managed district-level programs, comprehensive, alternative education, and special education sites throughout the county and continues his career at VCOE supporting our local school districts in any capacity they need.

Mr. Koenig has served in various administrative and teaching capacities, including Director, Student Support Services at Oxnard Union High School District (OUHSD), Principal of comprehensive and alternative sites at Santa Barbara Unified School District, OUHSD and VCOE, Assistant Principal, Dean, as well as Adult ESL and High School Teacher. James provides support and communication to local districts offering technical assistance, professional learning and information around state and federal accountability.

Cynthia Frutos has served students, families, and school communities in public education for over 30 years. Her experience in educational leadership includes serving as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, Director of Student Support Services, Principal, Teacher, and Coordinator of After-School Programs and Career Technical Education. Throughout her career, she has managed district and site-level programs, with extensive experience in alternative education, student support services, schools of choice/lottery processes, and restorative practices.  At the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE), she supports local school districts through collaboration, assessment and accountability technical assistance, professional learning, and resources that promote effective educational practices and student success.
