High School Students to Get a Taste of Hospitality Careers
Media Invited to Join Students on Educational Field Trips

High school students from throughout Ventura County will get a firsthand look at careers in the local tourism and hospitality industry during the week of April 22-26. Ventura County Hospitality Week, presented by VC Innovates, is a chance for students to visit local hotels and restaurants to learn about career opportunities ranging from food preparation to event coordination to hotel management. Hospitality is one of the county’s largest industries and an often overlooked career option for local students.

The following high schools are participating:

  • Buena High School
  • Channel Islands High School
  • Chaparral High School (Ojai)
  • Moorpark High School
  • Newbury Park High School
  • Oxnard High School
  • Pacifica High School
  • Rio Mesa High School
  • Royal High School
  • Ventura High School

Members of the media are invited to join the students on their visits to local hospitality businesses, which will take place every morning between April 22 and April 26. If you would like to attend, please contact Dave Schermer at dschermer@vcoe.org or 805-383-1922.
