School Counselors to Focus on STEM Careers at Summit
Media Coverage Invited on Monday, April 8

 

Ventura County’s first-ever Summit especially for school and college counselors and advisors is coming to Camarillo on April 8. The Ventura County Counselor Summit: Navigating a STEM Future event is an informational workshop that will engage community college and university academic advisors, teams of K-12 counselors, educators, and school and district administrators. The purpose is to enhance educational pathways that allow students to pursue STEM-related studies and careers and to encourage common messaging, counseling, and language for STEM pathway students.

WHAT: Ventura County Counselor Summit: Navigating a STEM Future

WHEN: Monday, April 8, 2019 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

WHERE: Ventura County Office of Education • 5100 Adolfo Road, Camarillo, CA 93012

Fields related to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) are seeing tremendous growth, and school counselors play an important role in guiding students toward STEM career opportunities. At the Summit, they will learn about how to prepare students for a STEM career and future with recommendations beginning as early as elementary school and continuing through the university level.
