The Ventura County Office of Education is pleased to announce the hiring of Daryton Ramsey as its new Director for the Regional System of District and School Support (RSDSS). The RSDSS Director is in charge of providing support to Ventura County school districts that receive federal Title I funding to help them improve performance. The Director also oversees RSDSS activities in a region that includes Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Kern Counties.

“It is an honor to join the Ventura County Office Education team and have the privilege of serving in an organization that is providing innovative programs and services,” Mr. Ramsey said. “I look forward to supporting our Title I districts and schools as well as contributing to the overall efforts of ensuring EACH student scholar has the opportunity to receive a world class education.”

Mr. Ramsey comes to VCOE from the Morgan Hill Unified School District, where he is currently the Principal at El Toro Elementary School. He has also served as charter high school Dean of Academics, an educator quality administrator and a middle school classroom teacher. He has a proven track record of providing leadership that helps schools boost student achievement and reduce behavioral problems.

“We are grateful to have a leader of Mr. Ramsey’s caliber join VCOE in this important role,” said County Superintendent of Schools Stan Mantooth. “We are confident he will be instrumental in helping our schools address roadblocks to success for their students.”

Mr. Ramsey will replace Dr. Carlos Dominguez, who has accepted a position with the Hueneme Elementary School District. Mr. Ramsey will begin his new role at VCOE on July 1. Additional information about RSDSS is available at www.vcoe.org/rsdss.
