THERE ARE TWO STEPS TO OBTAIN A DSC ADULT ED CLEAR CREDENTIAL:

 

• INDIVIDUALS FIRST QUALIFY FOR THE INITIAL CREDENTIAL CALLED A "PRELIMINARY" BASED ON BOTH WORK EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

 

• UPON OBTAINING THE PRELIMINARY CREDENTIAL, INDIVIDUALS MUST MEET ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS TO ATTAIN THE CLEAR CREDENTIAL, INCLUDING THE CLEAR CREDENTIAL PROGRAM WHICH ENCOMPASSES THE ENGLISH LEARNER AUTHORIZATION. RENEWAL OF THE CLEAR CREDENTIAL CAN BE COMPLETED ONLINE THROUGH THE COMMISSION ON TEACHER CREDENTIALING'S WEBSITE EVERY FIVE YEARS.

Academic Subjects - Requirements   General Subjects - Obtain Verification of your Work Experience   Apply for Certificate of Clearance (COC)   Ventura County teachers only - Complete a Temporary County Certificate (TCC)   Pay the DSC Application/Recommendation Fee   Submit your documentation to VCOE   CTC's Credential Application Fee
