Clear Credential

During the 3 years of the preliminary credential, additional requirements must be completed to earn the final credential called a "clear". To satisfy the credential requirement, you must be employed in a CTE teaching position and complete a CTE program. The VCOE online program consists of three courses, Fall, Spring, and Summer. Program costs are currently $2,750. There is a $150 non-refundable program registration fee due at the time of registering. Once a clear credential is earned, it includes an authorization to teach to English Learners, is valid for five years, and is renewable online through the CTC's website.
