Our department provides leadership and advisement to school districts to ensure high-quality career education.

We offer support in a variety of different ways; such as:

• Department leadership and oversight
• CTE program elements, advisement
• Consortium grant applications, SWP / CTEIG
• Guidance, consortium grant work plans
• Strategic partnerships
• New projects/proposals 

We also help support and encourage the alignment of high school programs with regional workforce demand, working with industry and in collaboration with our community colleges: Moorpark College, Oxnard College & Ventura College.

To foster strong connections and showcase the outstanding work happening across Ventura County, the Career Education Department will be hosting in-person meetings in partnership with local districts for leads and administrators. In addition to receiving key updates from the Career Education Department, participants will have the opportunity to: 

• Network with colleagues
• Share best practices
• Tour exemplary CTE programs.

VCOE partners with the California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) to support K–12 districts.
CCGI manages CaliforniaColleges.edu, the state’s official platform for college and career planning. Their mission is to simplify the path to college for all California students, close opportunity gaps, and ensure smooth transitions from K–12 to postsecondary education and careers.

VCOE, in collaboration with CCGI, facilitates a Community of Practice focused on the effective implementation of CCGI tools and resources.

• Live Data for Partnered Districts:

  Interactive training sessions designed to support districts already using live data. These sessions will provide hands-on guidance and encourage collaboration among participating districts.

   

• Future Partnerships & Data Onboarding:

  An overview and demonstration for districts interested in partnering with CCGI. This session includes a walkthrough of the onboarding process and collaborative discussions around data integration opportunities.

• Fall 2025 Training: September 23, 2025, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM - Slide Deck , Data Report Tutorial 

• Spring 2026 Training : February 27, 2026, 9:00 AM-11:00 AM
