ConejoMarkMcLaughlin...In Conejo Valley Unified School District, we proudly do things “The Conejo Way” to ensure ideal academic outcomes for our students. We use collaboration at every level of our organization, from our teachers in our classrooms to our directors and superintendents in our district office. This collaboration and teamwork provides the foundation for the premier educational experiences our students receive.

It is an exciting time to be a part of the CVUSD and to see “The Conejo Way” in action every day. We continue to bring innovation into our classrooms and upgrades to our campuses thanks to our voter-approved bond Measure I. An example of this modernization can be seen in the completely renovated library at Thousand Oaks High School, which was recently reopened with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. What was once a traditional library has been transformed into a dynamic, flexible learning space featuring state-of-the-art technology access and modern aesthetics designed to fuel students’ collaboration and creativity.

There is also no shortage of fun as beautiful, new and accessible playgrounds at our Aspen Elementary, Maple Elementary, and Ladera STARS Academy campuses greeted students on the first day of school.

Meanwhile, we continue to promote cultures of kindness, with a focus on the social-emotional well-being of all of our students remaining a top priority. As part of the Sandy Hook Promise “Start with Hello” program, our principals, counselors, and teacher leads recently received new training on the importance of inclusion. They were given tools on how to help students break down barriers via interpersonal interactions, as well as how to create and sustain an inclusive culture on campus.

In addition to offering beautiful, safe campuses, our award winning schools provide students with access to state-of-the-art technology, phenomenal music and arts education, diverse extra-curricular and school club activities, and overall world-class learning experiences. From our phenomenal neighborhood schools to our signature and unique academic program offerings – such as an entrepreneurship academy, International Baccalaureate School, Shine Home School and magnet elementary options – our TK-12 schools truly offer a right fit for every student.
