The primary mission of Educator Support and Effectiveness is to support the Ventura County Office of Education, local districts, other teacher employers, and local universities in the recruitment, hiring, assigning, and retaining of highly effective teachers and administrators. Educator Support and Effectiveness has established an integrated system to provide skilled, credentialed teachers and administrators in Ventura County.

Master of Arts Program

VCOE Teacher Induction candidates may receive credit and a special VCOE discounted rate toward a Master of Arts Grand Canyon University program.

Teacher Permit for Statuory Leave (TPSL)

The Ventura County Office of Education is offering online modules that meet the 45 hours of preparation required for a current or prospective substitute teacher to obtain an initial Teaching Permit for Statutory Leave (TPSL).

Classified School Employee Program (CSEP)

CSEP is a state-funded career pathway program for classified employees, leading to a teacher preparation program and teaching credential.  Eligible program participants may receive stipends for up to $3,000 to cover tuition, fees, and books.

CaliforniaTeach will guide you as you pursue your individualized journey toward becoming a teacher and education leader, with information on 21st Century teaching and learning, various pathways to earn a credential, and financial incentives. Educate for today and tomorrow with

Bilingual Teacher Professional Development Program (BTPDP) 

Financial assistance for currently credentialed teachers to get their Bilingual Authorization in Spanish.


The California Center on Teaching Careers is hosting the 2018 Fall VIRTUAL Teaching Careers Fair November 27th - 30th from 3:00 - 7:00 PM (PST). We will assist in guiding you to a pathway for becoming a California teacher and connecting you to teaching positions.

New and experienced teachers of all grade levels who participate in a one-day workshop will learn strategies for classroom organization and management that effective educators implement to ensure year-long success; create a successful plan for an effective learning environment; and reflect on areas for growth. 

The next workshop will be held on January 26, 2019. Online registration is now open until January 23.
