Content Area Language and Literacy (CALL)
A partnership between Ventura County Office of Education & California Reading and Literature Project

CALL Institute
Using course-specific texts and materials, teachers will:

  • Receive four days of training over four months, allowing time to practice CALL strategies and return with ideas and questions to share with colleagues.
  • Learn how to design effective instruction that meets the new Common Core State Standards
  • Assess and respond to various levels of English proficiency for English Language Learners through differentiated instruction
  • Collaborate with fellow secondary teachers through a professional learning community

The Ventura COE Teacher Support Services has partnered with Grand Canyon University, a regionally-accredited institution, to offer a Master of Arts program while completing a Ventura COE CTC-approved Clear Credential Program.
