Thank you for your interest in the Ventura County Designated Subjects CTE and Adult Education Program!
To apply to the program, candidates must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:
Hold a California Preliminary Designated Subjects Career Technical Education (CTE), Adult Education and/or Special Subjects Credential.
Employed in a teaching assignment. Assignments less than one semester (e.g., day-to-day substitute teaching) are not eligible teaching assignments.
Able to secure a mentor and field-based supervisor to support you in the program: Mentor and Field-Based Supervisor Information
The program is a hybrid program: there are classes that require attendance (approx. one Saturday a month) with a majority of the work completed online. Classes begin in the Fall semester (September) and end the following August. Please refer to our current schedules available on the CTE Home Page (under Links and Resources) as a sample overview. Program costs are currently $2,750 (Ventura County Cohort) or $3050 (Santa Cruz Cohort). There is a $150 non-refundable program registration fee due at the time of registering.
Registration for the 2019-20 is currently closed. The 2020-21 application period is tentatively scheduled to begin in Summer 2020. To be notified once it opens, complete the Request for Program Enrollment Notification form.
